Submission Procedure

Artists please submit up to three images by April 30 2008 to
art@rotarycalendar.org
Artwork's Purpose
Twelve of the submitted Artworks will be chosen for Rotary
Club of Nanaimo North's 2009 Vancouver Island Art Calendar
through a jurying process.
Eligible Artwork Criteria for the Calendar
The Artwork has to be original work and should reflect
Vancouver Island.
The submitted Artwork will be juried for acceptance.
The Artwork should be two-dimensional.
The mediums accepted are oil, watercolour, pastel, prints,
or mixed media, please no photographs.
Keep in mind that the calendar's art image is 13.5 wide X 9
inches high, therefore the format needs similar or the
artist will need to give the Rotary Club of Nanaimo North
the right to use part of the submitted art's image.
Up to three (3) pieces can be submitted by each artist by
email for consideration.
Only one art piece per artist will be included in the
Calendar.
Submission Procedures
The Submission Deadline is April 30th, 2008.
The digital image submitted by email should be at least 800
pixels wide or 569 pixels high, which ever is greater, as
that is the overall size of the pop up window.
A digital image of at least 300 dpi will be required for the
Calendar but not until the voting is completed.
A photo of the artist, a biography of the artist of up to
100 words, and an appropriate description of the artwork of
up to 100 words is required to be submitted by the twelve
finalists.
Rights To Use the Artist's Submitted Artwork's Image
As part of the submission of art for this contest artists
are agreeing to share copyright with Rotary Nanaimo North,
if their work is selected.
The Rotary Club of Nanaimo North will retain no right to the
works that are not selected. Nor will it retain any other
right to reproduction beyond display of the jury selected
works on Rotary Club of Nanaimo North's website and
reproduction of the 12 winning works in a quality art
calendar.
